Shades

SUN SHADES (See SN1 Below)

Also referred to as Solar Shades, these are roller shades with tiny holes that have an openness factor from 1-14%.

MOST COMMON USES

To block the sun without blocking the light, or view.

ADVANTAGES

Protects furniture, cuts glare, gives a measure of privacy for use both in residential and commercial installations. Available in a large array of colors with coordinating valances. These shades can be motorized.

PRIVACY SHADES (See SC1 - SC8 Below)

Come in both roller shades and cellular shades and are a matter of personal taste. Both are available in light filtering and light blocking. Light blocking is used when you want a room to be dark. Cell shades are the only shade rated by the Department of Energy for its insulation values and energy savings. . Cell shades do add an element of elegance to a window over that of roller shades, and also are available in a sheer fabric. Can be ordered cordless or motorized.

ROMAN SHADES (See SR1 - SR4 Below)

Are an attractive window covering and suitable for smaller windows. They are made in both soft rolled and flat designs.

MOST COMMON USES

For small windows.  Best used on windows no wider than 60" and longer than 72".

ADVANTAGES

Distinct appearance, fashionable and very popular. Can be made in fabrics and woven wood.

SILHOUETTE SHADES (See SP1 Below)

These shades are a Hunter Douglas favorite and offer the best of all options as a blind and shade combination, with an added sheer for extra beauty and practicality. Skandia has a good substitute for this shade at a more affordable price without any sacrifice in quality or warranty. These shades can be motorized.

All shades can be used with or without drapery panels, as this page shows these shades both ways.
